Still Here!

I'm sorry about the long silence.  Things have been rough lately.  A series of unfortunate events have distracted me from blogging.  In a nutshell, my favorite uncle passed away, my hubby and I are going through a stressful time, and I've been sicker than usual (100 degree temperature, intestinal distress, stubborn cold sores, swollen lymph nodes, etc.) -- not necessarily in that order.

I'll write more when I feel up to it, but just know I will return to blogging. Thanks for understanding!

Sorry to hear it, Alyson. Hope you'll be feeling improved soon!

Indeed. It sucks when all the bad things happen at once. I hope things get better for you soon.

Hi Anonymous (Marnie) - Thank you for your comment! I apologize for removing your message, but it mentioned my mother by name and I try to keep everyone's privacy (including my own). I will talk to my mom about your information. Please don't let this deletion deter you from commenting and asking questions in the future! :)

Thanks for your great blog and your earnestness and bravery in discussing your illness!

Just wanted to mention that the anaphylaxis and some of the other issues that you mention may be related to immune issues, particularly mast cells. Please understand, I am not making a specific medical diagnosis or medical recommendation, but hope this information might be helpful! http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3069946/

The places with the most specialization would most likely be Immunology/Allergy (or sometimes Hematology) departments within large academic medical centers.

Apologies if you have already posted on this topic, I have really bad CFS/ME and unfortunately do not have the energy to read through your great posts. Good luck!

Hi Dominique - Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! Hi Anonymous - Thanks for the post! I've never considered problems with my mast cells, but it's definitely something for me to consider. Lately, I've been thinking about seeing an immunologist.
